Who We Are

Real people designing real spaces that actually matter

Our Story

Legend Haven Studio

Started back in 2011, we weren't trying to reinvent the wheel or whatever. Just wanted to design buildings that didn't suck and maybe helped the planet a bit while we're at it.

Toronto's always been our home base, and honestly, it's shaped how we think about architecture. You can't work in a city this diverse and not pick up on what actually matters to people - functional spaces that don't cost the earth, literally.

We've done about 180+ projects now, from tiny residential renovations to pretty massive commercial builds. Every single one taught us something new, usually the hard way. That's kinda the point though - you learn, adapt, get better.

These days, we're focused on sustainable design because, well, the planet's kinda on fire and we'd like our kids to have somewhere decent to live. Plus, green buildings just perform better. Win-win.

How We Think About Design

Look, we're not gonna pretend there's some magic formula. But after years of doing this, we've figured out what works.

Function First, Always

A beautiful building that doesn't work is just expensive art. We start with how people actually use spaces, then make it look good. Not the other way around.

Sustainable By Default

Not an add-on or premium option. Every project we touch gets the full sustainability treatment. Better for clients' wallets long-term anyway.

Built To Last

Trends come and go. We're designing for decades, not Instagram likes. That means materials that age well and designs that won't look dated in five years.

The Team

We're a mixed bunch - architects, designers, engineers, and a couple folks who just really get buildings.

Sarah Chen

Sarah Chen

Founding Principal

Started this whole thing after getting tired of cookie-cutter developments. 15 years in and still gets excited about passive solar design. Weird, but that's why it works.

Marcus Thompson

Marcus Thompson

Lead Commercial Architect

Came from big corporate firms, realized he hated it. Now does commercial work that actually considers human beings. Coffee addict, but aren't we all.

Elena Rodriguez

Elena Rodriguez

Sustainability Director

The one who makes sure we actually walk the walk on green building. Has forgotten more about LEED certification than most people know. Keeps us honest.

James Park

James Park

Residential Design Lead

Believes everyone deserves a home that doesn't drain their bank account or the planet. Specializes in making small spaces work way harder than you'd think possible.

Amara Okafor

Amara Okafor

Heritage Restoration Specialist

Falls in love with old buildings, then figures out how to make them work for modern life. History nerd in the best way. Saved more heritage facades than we can count.

David Kowalski

David Kowalski

Urban Planning Consultant

Thinks about buildings in context - how they fit into neighborhoods, streets, the whole urban fabric. Basically makes sure our stuff doesn't mess up the block.

What Drives Us

Honestly? We're tired of seeing bad buildings. Stuff that wastes energy, feels soulless, or falls apart in ten years.

There's no reason buildings can't be functional, beautiful, sustainable, and built to last. It just takes giving a damn and doing the work properly.

Every project's a chance to prove that good architecture doesn't have to cost the earth - financially or environmentally. That's what gets us out of bed in the morning.

Our Work Philosophy

Recognition & Credentials

We've picked up a few awards along the way, but honestly, the real validation is when a client moves in and loves the space.
